UEC featured in Process Heating Magazine on the importance of maintaining a normal flow in Hot Oil Heaters to prevent damage. This very informative article focuses on the factors that impact flow rate, the perils of overheating and the protection and solutions to abnormal flow that features the One Series differential pressure electronic switch 4W3A01K13. This is something that every engineer should consider when producing a Hot Oil Heater in order to protect the product against abnormal flow range. Click on the link to learn more about this article.
Sensors such as the One Series Safety Transmitter can help protect facilities from potential damage. The attributes of positive displacement pumps make them one of the most widely deployed pump technologies in the oil and gas market. Capable of high pressure transfer of crude oil and liquefied petroleum products, these pumps must have dedicated protection systems due to the high potential for damage if things go awry.
With the oldest of the "baby boomers" reaching the age of 67 last year, the mass exodus from the workforce cannot be far behind. Today's lack of skilled labor, resulting in many jobs left unfilled, will be exacerbated when they begin to retire in large numbers. To help industry cope with these issues, United Electric Controls (UE) is expanding its practice of donating instrumentation to help close the skills gap for the future workforce.
Raul Vazquez has joined United Electric Controls as the Sales Manager for Latin America (Mexico, Central and South America) and the Caribbean markets.
United Electric Controls has introduced the One Series Safety Transmitter — the first SIL 2-certified transmitter designed solely for safety system applications. Unlike costly, overcomplicated process transmitters that must be adapted for safety use, the One Series is engineered to protect, giving safety teams simple setup and fast, safer and affordable performance — from the start.

The best way to reduce risk is to design inherently safe processes. However, inherent safety is rarely achievable. A realistic alternative is to employ diversity in safety systems to increase system reliability and avoid common mode failures.
Ask any engineer, getting the job done with fewer steps is the mark of a good design. Simpler is better, and nowhere is that maxim more true than when it comes to functional safety. Now plant safety teams get simple setup and faster, safer performance, right from the start.
